Quakertown Blazers Triumph Over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Miners

Quakertown Blazers were triumphant over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Miners 7-5 on Monday.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Miners were the first to get on the board in the first when Tyler Benick grounded out, scoring one run.

Nate Lapp had a RBI ground out, which helped Quakertown Blazers tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Miners took the lead in the top of the second. Nate Loch singled, scoring two runs, to give Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Miners the lead, 3-1.

Quakertown Blazers made the score 6-3 in the bottom of the fifth after Lapp drew a walk, scoring one run, Jackson Shollenberger singled, scoring two runs, and Harold Ivery III grounded out, scoring one run.

Trae Sanders began the game for Quakertown Blazers. The lefty gave up two hits and three runs (two earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking five. James Bottger started the game for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Miners. The starter allowed two hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking one. Jadon Dormer, Joe Ficoturo, and Grant Fitzgerald each threw shutout innings for Quakertown Blazers in relief.

Quakertown Blazers topped South Jersey Kings 9-5 in Sunday's opener. Quakertown Blazers jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Nate Lapp grounded out, scoring one run, Harold Ivery III hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Max McGlone singled, scoring two runs.

Danny Scullion hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the second for the South Jersey Kings.

Quakertown Blazers added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Ivery III singled up the middle, and McGlone hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Austin Buchanan homered to left field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth for the South Jersey Kings.

Trae Sander started for Quakertown Blazers. The left-handed pitcher allowed four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out five and walking two. Derek Friedman took the loss for South Jersey Kings. The starter went three innings, giving up eight runs on three hits, striking out three and walking eight. Cole Snyder earned the win for the Blazers and Ivery III pitched one inning of shutout ball for Quakertown Blazers in relief. The reliever surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking two.

McGlone, the number seven hitter for Quakertown Blazers, led the way with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-1 on the day. Ivery III, Ty Everitt, Dylan Broderick, and McGlone each collected one hit for Quakertown Blazers. Quincy Esannason paced Quakertown Blazers with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game. Esannason and Zach Mayza each stole multiple bases for Quakertown Blazers. Jordan Raba and Tyler Schoppe each collected one hit for South Jersey Kings. South Jersey Kings were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Peter Longo had the most chances in the field with nine.

A walk-off left Quakertown Blazers on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Pocono Timber Rattlers on Monday. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the ninth when Rocco DelGiudice singled, scoring one run.

Quakertown Blazers got on the board in the top of the fourth inning after Eric Cross walked, Quincy Esannason was struck by a pitch, and Ty Everitt grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.

Jordan Santiago walked, which helped Pocono Timber Rattlers tie the game at three in the bottom of the sixth.

A double by Zach Mayza gave Quakertown Blazers the lead, 4-3, in the top of the eighth.

Kooper Zdimal stepped on the hill first for Quakertown Blazers. The starter surrendered five hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking one. Ethan Grodack stepped on the mound first for Pocono Timber Rattlers. The righty surrendered three hits and three runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking two.

Cross, Esannason, Mayza, and Everitt each drove in one run for Quakertown Blazers. Mike Pascoe went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Quakertown Blazers in hits. Quakertown Blazers turned one double play in the game.

Santiago went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Pocono Timber Rattlers in hits.

Quakertown Blazers will take on Southside in a double header Tuesday 6/17 at 5:00 and 7:00 pm.

Blazers win season opener

The Quakertown Blazers got out to a 4-run lead in the second inning and held on for a 5-4 victory over Electric City Express on Thursday. Electric City Express closed the gap by scoring on a ground out, a double, and a single.

Quakertown Blazers opened the scoring in the first scoring two runs added two runs in the second on a Nate Lapp single, making the score 4-0.

Joe Ficoturo , Grant Fitzgerald , and Macen Probition each came on in relief for Quakertown Blazers and shutdown Electric City Express.

Lapp led Quakertown Blazers with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Number seven hitter, Jackson Shollenberger , showed the depth of Quakertown Blazers lineup, by leading them with two hits in four at bats. Max McGlone led Quakertown Blazers with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game.

Connor Rasimovich, the number eight hitter for Electric City Express, led the way with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Zander Condeelis, Blake Decker, Rasimovich, and Reece McCarthy each collected one hit for Electric City Express. Electric City Express turned one double play in the game. Electric City Express were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Jaden Wilson made the most plays with 10.
